In 1994 the World Wide Web was in its’ infancy.  Graphics were just beginning to become commonplace on the Internet, and I began my fascination with the creation of WebPages.  At that time the only way to get web pages posted was to know how to write HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) so I spent some time and learned the ins and outs of writing the tags that made up HTML and allowed us to get web pages up on the Internet.

As the technology progressed many new techniques and applications came along that assisted in the creation of web pages and websites, and I kept up with most all of them, from Java and Java Script, to Video, PHP, Flash, Perl and CGI programming. All of these tools play a part in creating an effective Website and making sure it all works properly.

In 1997 I formed Jacobs Web Design and have been creating websites professionally for clients throughout the US mostly and England (Ringo Starr).  We are committed to creating Web Sites that pop.  We work with our clients to develop an attractive and technically sophisticated site, which will communicate their message effectively to the largest possible audience at the lowest possible cost.

We have provided services for a wide variety of clients from high profile clients from Ringo Starr, Kenny Rogers, and the Super Bowl-winning quarterback Phil Simms, to a Ford dealership in Massachusetts and a Steel Processing plant in Los Angeles.  We’ve created web stores for many companies from those that sell vitamins, to books and newsletters, to Fine Art Limited Editions to CDs and tapes.

Many of our clients see the value of the Web as a vehicle for disseminating the message of their company and utilize their Website as a sort of “online four color brochure” at a fraction of the cost of doing the same thing in print.

Having a website is not a guarantee that your business will automatically thrive and flourish, but the first step is to have a professionally designed website, and that’s what we offer at Jacobs Web Design.  We view the Web as simply one more medium we can use to communicate with consumers and our goal is to make that experience effective and entertaining to the viewer.

Many confuse the Internet with broadcast media and completely overlook the fact that the greatest power of a Website is its ability to give things to and get things from customers on a one-to-one basis. One of the trends on the Web today is FREE – FREE – FREE.  You see it everywhere.  Well the key here, is to find something that you can give away — information for instance… then you can gain the client’s email and market to him in the future.  Once you establish a relationship with a visitor to your website, the more likely they will be to accept a direct marketing approach from you at a later time.

Your Website can be the unique connection between your company and your potential clients or customers.
